Situated within the glorious grounds of Lincoln Castle, Castle Cafe 1068 - a franchise of Lincoln Castle - is open daily serving tea, coffee, soft drinks, homemade cakes and a variety of hot and cold home cooked food. Since being taken over by local business woman Sharon Hopkinson, and the appointment of a new mangeress, the cafe has gone from strength to strength.
During the 19th Century, The Castle Cafe was originally part of the prison governors residence and running underneath was his extensive wine cellar. The room was then converted in 1884 to a Magistrates Court for the Lindsey District of Lincolnshire. The old magistrates bench now forms the serving counter. The cafe's location affords stunning views of both Lincoln Castle and it's magnificent grounds.
During the summer season, the castle plays hosts to many large events including outdoor concerts. During these events our catering van still provides the same great food for you to enjoy outside! |
